Katherine, Sean and I had had decided some time ago that we’d choose Stodmarsh Woods (near Canterbury and my home town of Fordwich) as a location for their pre-wed shoot and to catch the end of the bluebells – before we had the heat wave over Easter! The bluebells were fairly patchy – but we did find some! The light was wonderful in the light shade – and the strong sun streaming through the tree canopy created a beautiful dappled light – it was very pretty. Well done Katherine and Sean for withstanding the giant tree climbing ants and thistles! View full post »

A windy early evening on the 1st May in Tankerton, Kent! Tankerton is a favourite spot of mine – great for colour and textures and fresh air – oh and beautiful sunsets if you’re lucky! David and Katie coped really well with the gusty wind – well Katie in particular -we were challenged! We used the shelter of the beach huts and groins for protection – although chose to brave the winds for the final shots – I actually like some movement and fluidity… View full post »

Lisa and Tony got married earlier this month at St Ouen’s Manor in Jersey and then for their celebrations they chose The L’Horizon at St Brelade’s Bay – a fabulous venue which backs onto the beach. We experienced a heatwave over the Easter period – which was very unexpected – glorious weather but of course overseas guests had packed for Spring temperatures – but it did mean that there was an opportunity to paddle in the sea! The warm temperatures continued through the day and into the evening…
I started shooting some preparation shots with Lisa in St Helier, who was joined by her mother, sister, sister-in-law to be and nieces so there was a lovely air of excitement. I love to capture the anticipation and the busyness of the preparation – when everyone thinks they have all the time – then before you know it, it’s that wonderful moment when you slip into your wedding gown…
Lisa and Tony had hired a fabulous VW Camper Van as transport for Lisa and her bridesmaids and mother to the Manor and then back to the L’Horizon for the celebrations!
Here are a few of my favourite shots from the day….

I met Caroline & Richard down at St Ouens beach – the light was beautiful and there was a real calmness after the Easter Weekend busyness! Although the temperature had dropped, it was still a lovely evening… I love the colour and textures at St Ouens Bay especially when you’re lucky enough to get an amazing sunset too. Thank you Caroline & Richard, it was great to spend some time with you and get to know you better! Really looking forward to seeing you in June! View full post »
