After all the exceptionally cold weather and heavy snow we’d experienced at the end of January, it was a welcomed relief to see bright blue skies and the glowing sunshine for Alasdair and Simin’s Lympne Castle Wedding in early February.  They must have been on tenterhooks waiting to see what the weather was going to bring being that they had guests flying in from numerous locations around the world.  It was due to be quite and eclectic gathering.

I met Simin and her bridesmaids in ‘Harry’s room’ within the castle where the  beautifying was in full swing with the fantastic Samantha, of Beauty Call. The wood panelled room allows light to stream in through the large leaded windows and the light was particularly striking that morning.  There was a fabulous vibe and the close friendships were evident.  Simin made sure she kept her energy levels topped up with her favourite m and m’s !

Sadly Simin’s parents were unable to join them for their wedding day so her brother took great pride in accompanying his beautiful, radiant sister down the aisle to meet her husband to be.  It was a beautiful moment and such a privilage to be able to capture.

After some super confetti throwing and celebration drinks,  Simin and Alasdair took some time out to wander around the impressive grounds of the castle and have some portrait shots taken.  As well as having the opportunity to create some natural shots of the newlyweds, it’s lovely for a couple to have a bit of time alone (well almost alone!) to spend together.  Of course there’s also the consideration of available light for a winter wedding.

The speeches were mix of personal, affection insights about each couple. Especially touching was a speech given by Simin’s niece on behalf of her father.
Alasdair and Simin chose to have a Ceilidh for their evening entertainment, performed by Ceilidh Factor, who were fabulous and encouraged a lot of vigorous activity on the dance floor.  What a gorgeous day and what an elegant couple!  Here a selection of my favourite images from the day…
