Bex & Tom’s Engagement Shoot at Whitstable, Kent

Another bit of catching up with my blog!  This time, here are a few shots from Tom & Bex’s engagement shoot last August.  We met up about a couple of hours before sunset for the best light, which was beautiful.

Tom and Bex are getting married in Canterbury this year, with celebrations being held at Mount Ephraim Gardens, one of my favourite venues locally.  The grounds are fantastic and offer many photographic opportunities and also make the perfect back drop for wedding celebrations!

An engagement shoot is really effective way for a couple and their photographer to get to know each other a bit better.  I tend to steer away from the term ‘posing’ as my style is very relaxed and natural and my aim is to capture the relationship between a couple rather than forcing into uncomfortable, unnatural positions ‘which aren’t them’.

Back to Tom and Bex….   we had a lovely couple of hours together and they photographed beautifully.  It was great to talk about their plans for their wedding too –  which I’m very much looking to documenting in May!

Here are a few of my favourite images from our time together…
