Alex and Christie’s beautifully classic wedding at St Mary’s Church Chiddingstone was a hugely packed day and clearly an enormous of preparation had been in the planning!  They held their very stylish reception in the scenic grounds of Squerryes Court, Westerham.  The gardens are mightily impressive and I whilst I conducted the recce of their reception venue, I knew their guests were in for a real treat.

The day started off with a visit to Christie’s family home where preparation was in full swing for Christie and her bridesmaids (her sister and Alex’s sister). There was an air of calmness and many balloons. It was then time for Mandy and I to head off to the church to capture Alex meeting and greeting his guests at The Castle Inn  – a fabulous 15th Century pub. I always think that it’s good to capture this element of the build-up as it’s something the bride to be won’t see.

Christie looked exquisite in her bridal gown, from White Wedding House, when she stepped out of the bridal car, accompanied by her father who was on hand to readjust her veil as her bridesmaids gathered. It was such a beautiful service and hearty singing. A family member sings in a choir, so this made the service all the more special when they performed.

Taywell ice cream , from the village store opposite the church, was offered to guests by the ushers (appropriately dressed in aprons and boaters!) as they came out of the church after the service.  I thought this was a genius idea and I’m sure it was much appreciated by the guests on such a hot day! After some confetti throwing, it was onto Squerryes Court, guests were welcomed with champagne and delicious, beautifully crafted canapés and some chilled jazz.

Alex and Christie are big Disney fans so their tables were named after some of their favourite films – the DJ had the great idea of playing the theme tune to each movie and in turn, the guests on the relevant table had to reenact in turn!  It created much hilarity!  The tables were adorned with stunning floral displays by the very talented Bella of Johnnys Little Sister.

I loved documenting Alex and Christie’s elegant wedding.  Here are some of my favourite images from their day.
