Some warm, sunny weather – what a relief!! I had arranged to meet Michael and Amanda in between Tankerton and Whitstable at a couple of hours before sunset (ever hopeful!). Sun glasses were required when we set off – the glare from the sun hitting the sea is pretty fierce! We started off with some gentle walking moving to a little direction for ‘positioning’ – it’s common for for people not to know what to do with their hands, how to stand, where to look… Apart with giving some direction to address these points, an engagement shoot (also referred to as a pre-wed shoot) is an excellent opportunity to get to know a couple a bit more and therefore putting them at ease in front of the camera. I aim to achieve natural images which capture a couple’s relationship.
Michael and Amanda were lovely to work with and it was great to be able to talk about their plans for their forthcoming wedding at Lympne Castle. Amanda’s young daughter also joined us and she made an excellent photographer’s assistant – and shell collector!
Here are a few images from the evening…
It was such a lovely warm evening and the light was incredible. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a beautiful sunset – I hope we have many more this year!
