Gosh what an afternoon for an engagement shoot! As I drove from Canterbury to Camber in East Sussex, the closer I got to the coast the thicker the mist was becoming! Camber Sands has particularly fond childhood memories for Laura, hence they chose this spot for their engagement photography shoot. As I’ve mentioned many times before, I really believe that it’s such a good idea for couples to elect to have an engagement shoot (also referred to as a pre-wed shoot), particularly if you are a camera shy! It’s a fantastic way of getting to know each other a little more which I feel results in more relaxed images on the big day! I offer a wedding photography package which includes and engagement shoot which needs to taken within a 15 mile radius of my home, although I’m very happy to accommodate alternative locations, I just need to charge a bit extra for my time in travel and fuel. It’s worth noting as well, that during the wedding season (typically April-October) engagement shoots need to taken during a week day. See it as a good reason to book a day off and have some ‘you’ time!
So, on to the shoot… I decided we’d start off near the waters edge as an increasing amount of gloomy cloud made it’s way towards us! Laura and Henry braved the blustery weather and then we headed up to the more sheltered dunes. Despite the drizzle and and dull conditions, our spirits were not dampened – well done to Laura and Henry to even find the enthusiasm to play frisby and try to fly a kite! The engagement session did give us a good opportunity to discuss their plans for their wedding at Sandhurst Church and then celebrations at the fabulous, historic Bodium Castle, in June.
Thank you Laura and Henry for braving the elements and being so good natured! Very much looking forward to shooting your wedding in June!
