Canterbury Photography – Katie & Steve’s Countryside Pre-Wed Shoot

We had such beautiful warm weather for Katie and Steve's engagement shoot in a village just outside of Canterbury  in Kent.  We started off with some gentle walking amongst the beautiful countryside and Katie and Steve were relaxed in no time!  To meet with a couple for an engagement shoot is my preferred way of [...]

Tankerton Slopes Engagement Shoot with Gary and Rachael

After all the rain we've had this summer it was such a relief and a welcome break to have a warm, sunny evening.   Tankerton is a lovely starting point for a photoshoot - i love the colours and textures of the landscape, and it's such a great way of getting to know a couple a [...]

Fordwich Kent Engagement Shoot with Alana & Matt

After all the unsettled weather we've been having it was great to meet up with Mat and Alana at my home town of Fordwich, Kent.  Yet again, rain had been forecast for early evening so we decided to move the shoot forward to early afternoon - not a problem with the light seeing as we [...]

Tankerton, Kent Engagement Shoot with Emma & Tim

I met up with Emma & Tim on Sunday early evening at Tankerton Slopes when amazingly the sun was shining.   I am unfortunately for my family and friends rather weather forecast obsessed and the BBC is generally pretty good, so I was able to pre-warn Emma and Tim to bring along their sun glasses – so after dusting these off – we headed off down the slopes to the beach and made our way to Whitstable.  Emma and Tim were lovely to work with – very relaxed and Emma soon showed hints of being a little bit mischievous – the shoot was great fun! The engagement shoot is the precursor to the shots taken on the day of a couples wedding, and this time spent getting to know a couple is invaluable to making a connection, talking through the order of the day, assessing what couples are comfortable with in front of the lens and how they interact with each other and they get to know me a little better – so really useful all round. Here are a few of my favourite shots from the evening…. […]

Deal, Kent Engagement Shoot with Yasmin & Martin

I met up with Yasmin and Martin on Deal seafront early one evening last week – always the best time of day when avoiding harsh sunlight – not that there’s been too much of that around to worry about!  In fact we could see in the distance the rain clouds looming so we made the best of the dry weather whilst we could. I photographed an engagement shoot at Deal last year so i knew that there would be plenty of ‘props’ along the stroll to the pier.  I forgotten what a fantastic place it is to shoot and the light was just perfect.  Martin and Yasmin were brilliant to photograph, after the initial nerves dissolved.  Martin in particular soon got into the stride and his wonderful smile was so infectious and he had Yasmin and myself in stitches!  I had a lovely couple of hours with Yasmin and Martin – they were great fun to photograph! Here are a few of my favourite images from the shoot… […]
