Wow! What another amazing year of photographing weddings which ranged from large, lavish affairs to small intimate gatherings; from castles to family farms, medieval churches to woodland ceremonies. Each wedding distinctive, special and memorable.
From the thousands of photos I delivered to my clients in 2018, choosing which make my Best Wedding Photography selection was always going to a difficult task. In all of them, I’m looking for something special. An amazing moment, some raw emotion, humour, beautiful light, great composition, all of these can make for a special photo. Overall though, I’m looking for a story. Photos that you look at and can tell something about what was happening. Where it was happening, what people were feeling. Because that’s what documentary photography needs to do. It needs to tell a story. It’s so rewarding to be able to give people something so special, so I hope they will be able to treasure forever.
So here they are, my favourite 160 (ish) wedding photos of 2018. There’s a slideshow set to music above or if you prefer, enjoy at your own pace by scrolling, below. Thank you to Ma Polaine’s Great Decline for their kind permission to include their track ‘No Words We Need’.
A huge thank you to all my lovely couples – you’ve invited me into the fold which has allowed me to witness and document the emotion, the unique moments and the happiness. The trust you’ve put in me hasn’t been taken lightly and it’s been an enormous pleasure to be part of your day! Nothing quite beats that moment when I receive the most wonderful, enthusiastic feedback from a couple after viewing their images. If you’d like to read some of the feedback my lovely couples have left me, please visit my testimonial page. This has to be the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. So, a heartfelt thank you to all of those who chose me to be part of your day. If you’re planning a wedding for this coming year or beyond and you’re looking for a wedding photographer in the Kent, the UK or Jersey, I’d be delighted if you got in touch via my contact page!
2019 is looking like it’s going to be another fabulous year – exciting!
