I was delighted to document Petra and Chris’s wedding at the beautifully set Boughton Under Blean Church, St Peter and St Paul, which dates back to the 13th Century. Their reception celebrations were held at the stunning Mount Ephraim Gardens, one of my favourite venues locally. Being a keen gardener, I’m particularly drawn to the Edwardian terraced gardens and impressive topiary, not forgetting the Miz Maze!
My day began by meeting up with Petra and her bridesmaids at The White Horse Inn which is a popular venue for newly weds to be to prepare for their big day. It was great to be able to capture the friendship between Petra and her bridesmaids which was clear to see – they had a number of special gifts for Petra which came as a wonderful surprise! I then made my way to Chris’s parent’s home which was nearby to document the buzz of the morning!
The church ceremony was beautiful and everyone enjoyed the old school style of hymns. Upon exciting the church, Chris’s best man had organised a rather alternative Guard of Honor for Chris and Petra – as you’ll see. We all made our way back to Mount Ephraim where we greeted by a spectacular Tipi in the grounds, which was a real talking point. A Tipi with a fire pit which was a real hit later on in the evening, especially with the prospect of toasting marshmallows!
The weather behaved itself on the day and apart from a bit of drizzle, it was a beautifully warm, sunny day. Here are a few of my favourite images of the day…..
