I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Matt’s wedding in June who got married at the historic church  St Lawrence The Martyr, Godmersham, Kent which dates back to Saxon times.  Celebrations were held at Chilham Village Hall where the theme was a tea party!  The tables were laid with gorgeous tiered plates and bone china cups and saucers – there was lots of tea and sandwiches (minus the crusts!) and scones with jam and cream – yum!

It was a really super church service and I was lucky enough that the priest was very flexible where I stood, which unfortunately isn’t always the case.  After attending the church rehearsal, I knew I wanted to capture the first look and then I would discreetly made my way to the back of the church where I felt I had an uninterrupted view of the ceremony.

My day started off by meeting Sarah at The Falstaff Hotel in Canterbury in her bridal suite where she was joined by her mother, maid of honour and bridesmaids.

Here are just a few images from the day…

Sarah’s beautiful bouquet…

My eyes were drawn to the beautiful stone work of the church, dating back to Saxon times – very striking…

Sarah was accompanied by her father and 5 bridesmaids.  She looked so radiant!

The stained glass windows were just beautiful…

Mr & Mrs!!!

I just love this shot of Sarah & Matt – they both radiate happiness…

The speeches were very entertaining!

As it was such a bright sunny day, it was decided that we would pop in the car up the square in  Chilham Village when the light was more conducive for some beautifully lit, natural shots of Sarah & Matt.

By waiting for the light to be at the right hight in the sky, beautifully crafted creative images can be achieved by shooting into the sun.  I love the way the sun is streaming through Sarah’s veil – such an elegant couple!

Hey Macarena!

Congratulations Sarah & Matt!
