On an overcast day in April, I made my way over the Kingsferry Bridge to the Isle of Sheppey to document Kim and Alex’s wedding at The Ferry House Inn, Harty. The inn is a beautiful 16th Century Country Public House sitting alongside the Swale Estuary in the hamlet of Harty. The views are stunning and the surrounding countryside and marshes have a very tranquil feel. I’m a big fan!
I first met Kim and Alex a year previous to their wedding where they came to my home to discuss their plans for their day. I remember Kim’s visible excitement with all the planning and forthcoming wedding. When I joined Kim, her sister and bridesmaids on her wedding day at The Ferry House Inn, her beautiful smile was there to greet me and the same level of excitement was evident as ever. Alex arrived with his best man looking very sharp and handsome in his tailored suit – seeming very relaxed too!
Emotions were running high for their intimate ceremony and it was lovely that Kim’s nephews played a role as page boys and their close friend’s (and best man) daughter was their flower girl who did a brilliant job of sprinkling rose petals in preparation for Kim’s arrival with her sister accompanying her.
We were blessed with some sunshine before the wedding breakfast, so we took the opportunity to take some time out to get some couple shots. The backdrop of the dark grey sky was striking and it provided the perfect mood for Kim and Alex’s romantic shots. Totally in love, they were beautiful to photograph. It was such a privilege to be involved in their day and they were a joy to work with.
Here’s some lovely feedback that Kim and Alex left me….. “Catherine was the personal and professional photographer we hoped for, putting us immediately at ease and working hard to give us brilliant photos of our special day, which we will look back upon for years to come. We highly recommend her!”
Here are some of my favourite images from the day. A wonderful day you two! Many congratulations x
