Leeds Castle Wedding Photographer – The marriage of Simon and Sophie

The day had arrived to shoot Sophie and Simon’s wedding at Leeds Castle and the weather couldn’t have been better – in fact it was the hottest day of the year at the time – the last Saturday in June.

Sophie and Simon’s wedding took place at The Maiden’s Tower situated on the castle island and it was originally a Tudor bake house!  It’s the perfect venue for an intimate wedding being that it is self contained and has it’s own private walled garden – and of course nestled amongst the most beautiful scenery!

My day started off by meeting Sophie at The Maiden’s Tower where her preparations continued with her mother and bridesmaid – it’s lovely to be able to capture this part of the day – some of the prep and excitement!  Sophie was such a pretty bride!

The ceremony was a mix of emotion – tears and happiness – I never take it for granted that I’m capturing one of the most intimate, significant occasions a couple will experience.

It was a pleasure to spend the day with Sophie and Simon and document their special day.  Here are a few of my favourite images from the day…

I love this shot of Sophie – such a beautiful, radiant bride!

Sophie and Simon had the inspired idea of bubbles for their ‘confetti line’ – it worked brilliantly – in particular because it was such a bright sunny day that the bubbles were so iridescence in appearance – so pretty!  There’s something fun about blowing bubbles – maybe it’s just that it allows us to transport ourselves back to childhood – they were a big hit with all ages!

getting ready for the speeches!

After the speeches and whilst the coffee was being served, we took the opportunity to take some portrait shots around the grounds of the castle – whilst the light was just perfect and public had left, giving us more freedom to roam!Sophie’s veil was her mother’s, so it held particular sentimental value – I just love the way the sun light is streaming through her beautiful veil, extenuating the beautiful lace and detail…

Whilst we still had some quality light, Sophie and her Uni friends assembled on the lawn in front of the Castle – gorgeous girls!

let the party begin!

Congratulations Sophie & Simon!
