I was delighted to document Mike and Julia’s wedding last September where they held their celebrations at the fabulous, historic Leeds Castle after a beautiful church ceremony.
Julia and Mike had discussed their plans for their big day when we met last June for their engagement shoot in the poppies! It was a great opportunity to get to know each other a bit more and for them to get used to being in front of the lens so they felt really comfortable for me to document their wedding day. They have a lovely sense of fun and were very playful so I was looking forward to this day.
My day began by meeting Julia at Leeds Castle where she was preparing with her mother and sister. The bridal suite was very special – an opulent four poster bed, adorned with antique furniture and artefacts. Julia looked very at home amongst the grand surroundings! After documenting Julia being helped into her bridal gown by her mother, I made tracks to meet Mike and his groomsmen at a nearby church and capture their guests arriving. It’s good to factor this part of the story into the time schedule where possible.
After the showering of confetti it was back to Leeds Castle for the reception celebrations! It was a glorious afternoon so the wedding party were able to bask in the warmth of the sunshine whilst they enjoyed champagne and canapés and of course the magnificent views and the Castle grounds.
Julia and Mike are such a great couple and it was such a pleasure to be part of their special day.
