What a pleasure it was to meet Natalie and Pete last year when we first met to discuss their wedding at Broome Park, in Barham near Canterbury. We were able to get to know each other a little better when we met for their engagement shoot in the summer.

So fast forward to the big day! I joined Natalie and her bridesmaids, mother and soon to be mother in law in the bridal suite of the mansion as they were being beautified and the celebrations in full swing with glasses full of bubbly! Natalie’s mother had arranged for her brother to call her via FaceTime as he was overseas and unable to make the day. Natalie had a real job to preserve her newly applied make up, but it was lovely touch.   Another personal touch was Natalie’s grandfather’s medals which she had attached to her bridal bouquet, beautifully created by Distinctly Floral.

Broome Park is a magnificent Grade 1 listed Mansion House.  The House has been refurbished to its former glory and boasts as one of its many previous owners – Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener of Khartoum. Even though we were in the winter months, there was still no shortage of fantastic opportunities later for Natalie and Pete’s portrait shots, including the Italian Gardens where they were able to shelter from the rain.  The main entrance hall was a fabulous backdrop for some after dinner shots of the newlyweds and their Best Men and Bridesmaids, when everyone was particularly relaxed!

There were so many personal touches included in the day, including Sloe Gin and Blackcurrant Port as favours, which Natalie and Pete had made for their guests. They were kind enough to gift me a couple of bottles of this nectar just before Christmas (to date I’ve only tried the port which was divine!!)

After the cake cutting, it was time for the first dance and then the dancing began. I love it when the dance floor is packed – there were plenty of enthusiastic dance moves!  Well what a wonderful day and such a warm, lovely couple.  Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Here are some of my favourite images from the wonderfully special day…

Congratulations both! x
