At the beginning of April, I had the pleasure of documenting Sam and Steve’s wedding at The Beach House, located at Ouaisne, St Brelade’s Jersey. When I met Sam and Steve at the venue a couple of days before their wedding to do my recee they explained that a coastal wedding was important to them and that to have a sea view whilst making their vows to each other was key. Sam and Steve are real foodies also, so that element was important too (the food was stunning- I’m happy to report!) So I completely understood why they elected for The Beach House which has views over the sweeping coast line and bay. It was really fascinating to see how the landscape changed during the day with the change in tide and light.
So my day started off by meeting Sam at her parent’s house where she was joined by their daughter, sister and parents. Sam’s make up artist was well under way when I arrived so I begun by taking some detail shots until Sam was a bit more advanced with her make up. Lily, Sam and Steve’s daughter was excited with all the busyness in the household – she was a real sweetie!
I was then off to join Steve, his Groomsmen and wedding party at St Brelade’s Bay. It was a beautiful sunny day, but chilly! Everyone seemed to come prepared though and the amazing view and the excitement of the occasion was an excellent distraction!
Everything was just perfect – blessed with sunshine, an wonderful venue, amazing coastline and a fantastic wedding party! Here are few images from the day….
Whilst the wedding party were enjoying the wedding breakfast, I took a stroll around the bay and spied these boats – the one in the background was just perfect ‘Magic Moments’!
Whilst Sam and Steve’s guests were having their coffee and dessert, we slipped out for their portrait shots to catch the best of the light – which was just perfect for the following shots. Sam was armed with her wellies, so we headed off to the beach first off all then onto the headland…
I love the colours in these images…
Now for the speeches!
The warm glow from the sunset filled the room and I managed to capture the last of the sun as it dipped behind St Brelade’s Bay.
Congratulations Sam and Steve!
