I had the pleasure of documenting Lynne and Mick’s beautiful wedding at The Old Kent Barn at the end of May. It felt like a very relaxed, intimate day and Lynne and Mick were so lovely to work with.
When i first met Lynne and Mick, more than a year before their wedding, they had pre-warned me that they were a little camera shy – so fast forward to their engagement shoot (here’s the link here to see the shots from their shoot if you missed it first time) where we spent a couple of hours getting to know each other and I gave them some gentle direction (what to do with hands, weight distribution etc) – this can make such a difference if you’re perhaps nervous about being photographed – it’s great to get the nerves out of the way so couples can just forget that i’m around on the day, allowing me to just blend in and capture some wonderful moments as they unfold, in a natural way.
I arrived in the morning to Lynne’s bridesmaids taking lots of shots of the fabulous tables, the cake and all the little details that Lynne had gone to so much trouble to source so the tables would look just perfect! What a cool, calm bride Lynne was when I joined her in the bridal preparation room in the new barn.
Pre ceremony I was able to split my time between Lynne and her bridesmaids preparation and spending a bit of time with Mick and groomsmen meeting and greeting their guests.
What gorgeous day! Lynne looked like a dream in her fabulous wedding gown and Mick looked so handsome in his fitted three piece suit. After an emotional ceremony, including two beautiful readings it was time for the celebrations to begin!
Here are a few of my favourite images from the day…
After their reception celebrations, we took a stroll around the beautiful gardens which were in full bloom, filled with glorious purple aliums and roses galore, for a few relaxed and natural portrait shots
The Chaps Band were fantastic – they had such a great vibe and energy. Really impressive…
Many congratulations Mr and Mrs Humphreys!
