Katie and David’s Wedding was held the last weekend of May, one of my favourite times of year when gardens are on the verge of looking their best – an especially good time of year to shoot amongst the gardens of Whitstable Castle!

Katie and David had chosen to get married at All Saints Church in Whitstable Kent,  and Rev Simon Tilloston, whom I’d met last year, conducted the ceremony and kindly let me stand to the left and in front of the proceedings so was also incredibly welcoming and accommodating.  It does make such a difference to be able to shoot from the front – it’s wonderful to capture the moment when a groom first sets eyes on his bride; the moment when each says ‘I do’…

Katie and David’s marriage was then followed by their wedding breakfast and celebrations at Whitstable Castle . This is the first time I’d shot celebrations at the castle, so I was really looking forward to it.  The gardens have recently been landscaped, although the planting was already looking established.  What a great location – beautiful gardens and the beach across the road!

The preparations started off for Katie at their home in Whitstable – there was a lovely buzz when I arrived as Katie was joined by her three bridesmaids and her parents – the champagne was flowing!

It was a lovely day, full of joy!

Here are some of my favourite images from the day…
