STYLE AND APPROACH TO MY DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I understand that when you first set out looking for a photographer the endless choice can be overwhelming, but if you’re able to identify the type and style of photography you connect most with then that’s a great place to start! My style, documentary – a mix of discretely captured un-posed moments to reflect every beautiful moment of your big day, detail shots which support the primary images and a few stylish, composed portrait shots. My contemporary documentary wedding photography is always fresh, real, and beautiful – never over processed – just distinctly natural and honest. I want you to look at your photos for the rest of your life and be able to remember the day like it was yesterday through images which provoke an emotional connection.
Where possible I prefer to use available light, I just love the vibe and three-dimensional results supposed to using flash. I use beautiful fast lenses that are able to draw in the ambient light to stunning effect. Of course there are occasions when additional lighting will be needed where lighting situations dictate – something your professional photographer will need to feel completely comfortable assessing.
My speciality is catching those wonderful moments, as they happen, un-posed, genuine and spontaneous, portraying you both, your family and friends in a natural way, at one of the most significant, intimate days of your lives. Ultimately, my aim is document your wedding in a discreet way to capture the essence of the day and create emotive imagery. I like to think of myself as a friend who’s come along to photograph your wedding and it’s wonderful when guests ask me to confirm that! This is why I feel getting to know a couple is such an integral way to the way I work.
At this stage it’s worth mentioning that I accept only a limited number of wedding commissions each year to ensure proper attention to each and every client and provide a very personal service. You will never need to wonder where we are in the process or what happens next–through prompt, timely communication you will feel completely taken care of through every step of the process.
