What a great year 2022 was for beautiful weddings! I photographed from large weddings (a couple of which were held in castles) to intimate, very small elopements held in a former magistrates court. I have the same approach from one spectrum to the other. I like to blend in (even if I make up the 5th member of the wedding party!), observe and capture real moments. I’ll always go the extra mile, and I’m passionate about creating your legacy through emotional and beautiful imagery and providing a gallery that evokes memory. To be enjoyed now and for future generations.

After a somewhat false start in 2021 due to health reasons, I was raring to go in 2022, and the year didn’t disappoint. I’ve met some lovely people through my work, some of whom have become friends. A lot of the weddings have featured a variety of animals, including dogs, guinea pigs, horses and chickens!

For some years, I’ve been a proud member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and am grateful to have been awarded several awards. The WPJA is an international, membership-based organisation representing professional photographers skilled in documenting weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. So amongst so much talent worldwide, I was thrilled to have won an award for an elopement I documented at The Old Magistrate’s Court in June of this year.

I switched to mirrorless cameras this year, and using them has been a breath of fresh air. It’s been a game-changer for me. I’ve always believed in reinvesting in my business and developing (pun intended!) my photography skills. Foremost, I’m a photographer, and I photograph weddings as well as families. Both with the same ethos – authentically capturing your true selves.

I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the couples who trusted me to capture their wedding day. Most people rarely gather all their family and friends in one place. I love this job and understand the privilege of capturing one of the most important days in a couple’s life.

Reflecting on all the weddings I’ve had the honour of photographing, what gets me excited about documenting weddings is always being on the look out for moments which will encapsulate your day. Moments of joy, emotion, intimacy, and happiness which reflect you, your family and friends. I only accept a limited number of weddings each year and get booked up in advance, so don’t delay, do get in touch and let’s get excited about your wedding day together! I’m so looking forward to seeing what 2023 brings!

Below is a selection of some of my personal favourite moments from what has been a great year.
