Well what a joy Chris and Emily are!  From the first phone call, then meeting it was lovely to meet them again for their engagement shoot in the lead up to their wedding in August at Lympne Castle, a wonderful Grade I listed castle which has the most incredible views over the coast of Hythe and Dungeness. It’s one of my favourite venues locally!

So back to Chris and Emily’s engagement photography…  we’d had a few dates pencilled in to take account of our unpredicable British weather, but thankfully the Monday evening we’d chosen turned out to be the best day of the week, so lucky us!  The bluebells were in full bloom and looked just stunning.  We were also lucky to have some warm weather and a setting sun which gave us pockets of light within the coppice woods.  Wanting to make the most of the light, we headed closer to Bridge to take some shots in the rapeseed fields which were vibrant and in their full glory!  Chris and Emily were super relaxed and have a lovely, fun relationship so it was a fun evening.

I can’t recommend an engagement shoot highly enough, particulary if a couple are camera shy, or just don’t want to go through that learning curve on the day of their wedding.  It’s such a brilliant opportunity to get to know each other a little better too. Also, ask yourself how many times you have the opportunity to be professionaly photographed, as a couple, in beautiful surroundings and to experience some ‘you time’. My aim is to capture the real you and the connection which is so special between you.  So, what are you waiting for?!

Here are a few of my favourite shots from our evening together…
