I had the pleasure of documenting Julie and Dean’s Holy Cross Church Bearsted wedding in August this year. Their celebrations were held at The Old Kent Barn near Folkestone, in Kent. I was accompanied by Yasmin who assisted me and who was able to capture some beautiful shots of the ceremony from the gallery which is erected in the tower, whilst I took shots from ground level during the ceremony.
After so much rain at the start of the month, the warm bright sunny weather was a welcome start to the day as we began to document Julie’s preparation for her marriage to Dean. The very talented Lucy Jane was Julie’s make up artist, and there was a real sense of calm. Julie really is a natural beauty and she looked absolutely radiant when she arrived at the church with her ever so proud father.
After a moving ceremony and the throwing of confetti, it was time to head off to the Old Kent Barn for the reception celebrations!
Joined by family and close friends, it was an emotional day and many happy tears were shed – it was real privilege to be part of the day.
I decided that I would post this blog entirely in black and white, just because I felt the imagery lent itself to this medium (plus I’m a big fan of timeless black and white photography!).
Here are few of my favourite images from the day…
Many congratulations Julie and Dean!
