I’d waited a long time to photograph Steve and Eliza’s Jersey wedding since I first met them for their engagement photography shoot. I was super pleased that they asked me to be their Jersey Wedding Photographer as we had a lovely connection.
Of course it’s been a surreal year and there was a time it was in doubt if the wedding would actually go ahead. I was over joyed when Steve and Eliza confirmed it was actually going to happen – it may not have been in the format as they’d envisaged, but was more important than anything was that they formalised their relationship and married. As with many couples who were able to flexible to maybe change their venue and scale of celebration, Steve and Eliza had to reconsider the venue for their marriage. They selected the wonderful Samares Manor I’m a keen gardener so I felt very at home in their many outdoor rooms. The autumnal colours around the grounds were just breathtaking – I knew we’d be spoiled for choice for Steve and Eliza’s intimate portrait shots.
Our morning started off with bridal (and flower girl!) preparations at Hotel De France. The flower girls (Steve and Eliza’s daughters were clearly relishing being pampered!) The girls were a joy to photograph – such personalities.
Steve and Eliza share three children together and they were an integral part of their wedding. As well as their daughters being flower girls, Steve’s son was his best man. He was one very proud best man! One very personal touch was the reading they shared between them, just so sweet and it was clear to see that they relished the moment! After an emotional ceremony, we made the most of the afternoon sunshine to capture some couple shots against the vibrant backdrop of the gardens. Eliza and Steve had factored in their portrait shots into the wedding schedule so allowed time to make the most of the beautiful autumnal light. Everyone then headed off for a Greek wedding breakfast – just fabulous!
What a beautiful, intimate wedding to be part of. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and choosing me to document your day.
