I had the pleasure of documenting Emily and Stephen’s wedding at Preston Court near Canterbury – what a gorgeous day! The last time I saw Emily and Stephen was last August when we met at Deal, in Kent, to shoot their pre-wed session – so it felt like their wedding had been a long time coming! I was really excited to be shooting at Preston Court again – it’s such an interesting venue with a mixture of attractive gardens and architecture, with the added attraction of a carousel! Spring had sprung and the gardens were in full bloom – pretty tulips and beautiful magnolia…
Emily had asked me a while ago if I could recommend and videographer, so I had no hesitation of passing on the details for my pal in Jersey – Anna of Somma Productions who has more of a cinematography style and who’s work is truly beautiful! So, Anna and I headed off to Goss Hall which is a very stylish Grade II listed manor house nestled amongst the beautiful Kent countryside between Canterbury and Sandwich. Preparations were in full swing when we arrived – Emily was having her hair styled by the talented Viki Lord – I always think her styling is like a work of art! Emily looked so beautiful – such an elegant bride!
It was then off to Preston Court to meet Stephen and his groomsmen and capture their guests arriving just to tell the complete story, which is one of the reasons I generally shoot the entire wedding – there’s just that one chance to capture these moments to preserve precious memories in our lives. It’s also lovely to be able to document all the hustle and bustle of the preparation and laying down of final details for the event!
Emily and Stephen had gone to great lengths with their attention to detail and all the fun activities they had organised for their guests, including the carousel, a vintage photobooth (which was huge success) and yummy eats, including an amazing wedding breakfast created by Scott Anderson, and later in the evening a crepe mobile!
It was a beautiful, intimate, family orientated celebration…. here are a few of my favourite images of the day.
