Who’d have thought we could have had such a mild afternoon for this lovely couple’s Engagement shoot in Jersey – the 2nd January and it was so mild!  I love the L’Étacq end of St Ouen Bay with its lunar-esq landscape, amber lichened granite and staggering rock faces.  We also so lucky with the beautiful light on the day.

There are a number of reasons why I recommend to my clients that they opt for an engagement photoshoot. Not many couples are naturally at ease in front of the camera. It can be an awkward learning process to figure out how to post or when to smile, especially with a photographer closely capturing your every move. Luckily, you can think of your engagement session as a trial run for your wedding day. Ultimately, it’s my job to put you at ease, give you a few tips on positioning and then the rest is up to you to be you!

Not only do engagement photos allow you to relax in front of the camera in your everyday clothes, but they also allow you to become comfortable in front of the camera without the added pressure of those wedding day butterflies.

During your engagement session, you’ll have a chance to get to know each other on a more personal level, all of which helps make the wedding day run that much smoother.

We had such a lovely afternoon discussing elements of their wedding day at La Mare Wine Estate in July, and getting to know each other a little more.
